Seven Ways To Praise

PRAISE WEEK ALL WEEK LONG PRAISE

Seven Ways To Praise

Praise.  There are many forms of praise.  Praise is a very important
aspect of our relationship with God.  God inhabits our praise and
we should not be inhibited in our praise, for our praise glorifies God.
Some people of the world do not always understand the different
forms of our praise.  Some would label us, but in the Hebrew
language there are seven words that are synonymous with the
English word praise.  Here we would like to study these words
and give you references to find in the Bible.

Towdah
This is the sacrifice of praise.  Praising the Lord in spite of the fact that things
are upside down in your own world.  Praising the Lord, even if you don't feel like
praising the Lord.  Praising the Lord even though you are going through many
trials in your life.  This is your sacrifice to God.

Hebrews 13:15
By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is,
the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

Jeremiah 33:11
The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the
voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts:
for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth forever: and of them that shall
bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord.

Psalms 54:6
I will freely sacrifice unto thee:  I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

Yadah

This is the demonstration of our love and submission to the Lord by
the raising of our hands.  Lifting your hands to the Lord in total
submission and devotion.

Lamentations 3:41
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the Heaven.

Psalms 134:2
Lift your hands in holiness and bless the Lord.

Psalms 63:4
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

Barouch

This means to bow.  To be completely overwhelmed by His majesty
and bow at His feet in submission and honor to the Lord.

Ephesians 3:13&14
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 14:11
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.

Psalms 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

Shabach

This means to shout.  Praise to the Lord given in the form of a shout.
Lifting your voice unto the Lord, giving praise for what He has done
and what He is going to do.

Psalms 98:7
Let the sea in all its vastness roar with praise!
Let the earth and all those living on it shout, "Glory to the Lord!"

Ezra 3:11
And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord.

Isaiah 12:6
Let all the people of Jerusalem shout his praise with joy.
For great and mighty is the Holy one of Israel, who lives among you.

Zamar

Playing any instrument that glorifies the Lord.

Psalms 150
Hallelujah!  Yes, praise the Lord!  Praise him with the trumpet and with lute
and harp.  Praise him with the drums and dancing.  Praise him with stringed
instruments and horns.  Praise him with the cymbals, praise him upon the
high sounding cymbals.

Halell

This means to rave and boast of the wonders of the Lord with
excitement through dance.

Psalms 149:3
Let them praise his name in the dance:  let them sing praises unto him with
the timbrel and harp.

II Samuel 6:16
And as the Ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter
looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord.

Psalms 30:11
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing:
thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness.

Tehillah

This one is the best.  It is the combination of singing, shouting,
dancing, clapping and rejoicing before the Lord.

Psalms 47:1
O clap your hands, all ye people: shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Psalms 47:6
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

Psalms 144:9
I will sing a new song unto thee, O God:
upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

Seven Ways to Praise
by Carman

Way back in the Bible, the Hebrew language says
That we were taught that we could praise the Lord in seven ways
Seven great expressions, seven different flows
Seven ways to worship God and this is how it goes

Number one is Towdah, it's the sacrifice
Praising God in spite the fact your world is in a vice
It's praise that pushes through the wall of all adversity
An offering that flows to heaven in our time of need

Number two's Yadah, that means to lift your hands
In response to what the Lord has done throughout the land
An outward sign of what's inside for all the world to see
A demonstration of our love so come praise the Lord with me

Number three is barouch, that simply means to bow
In the awesome presence of the Lord and all His power
To just be overwhelmed cause you hardly can believe
That you've been given favor by His Holy Majesty

This fourth one is shabach, it is what we call the shout
It's praise that's given way before the answer comes about
A public testimony that drowns out all the noise
of whiners and complainers as the saints all lift their voice

Number five is zamar, this one you'll like for sure
it's playing any instrument that glorifies the Lord
Instruments that blast, instruments that strum
instruments that keep the beat, so I'll praise Him on my drum

Six we call halell, that means to rave and boast
And praise the Lord in such a way that gets you on your toes
It's beyond just clapping hands,
But best of all, this is the one that makes you want to dance

Finally Tehillah, seven is the best
It's the one that is the combination of the rest
It's singing and it's shouting, it's dancing and it's more
It's wild, it's fun so everyone rejoice before the Lord

prophetic word for 2012

Just feel i must share this prophetic word the Lord gave me in the beginning of the year 2012.  I know it is halfway through the year already but i only joined u guys a few days ago, and just feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to share this. Even here in our country things are very tough, but Father said to me that 2012 is the year of the Lord and His favour over His people. He reminded me that my beautiful country, South Africa,as well as you America, belong to Him and to any earthly government. God says in this year He is going to stir the waters amongst His people, and those that jump in while He stirs this water will walk in victory and in His favour upon your life. The Spirit reminded me of 2 Timothy 3 verse 1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. BUT  God says in spite of that this is still the year of the Lord and of His favour for those that jump into the waters while He is stirring it. He reminded me not to be afraid or get shaken by the news and the politicians for nothing that is not in His will, will manifest, for He is in charge of 2012. I hope this uplifts and encourages you guys, just had to remind you that He is in TOTAL control.

Psalms 46: 1-3

God is our refuge and strength,

    an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake with their surging.

This is just a word to remind you that regardless of what you face in life, God is your refuge. He is the one that you can run to, that secret place wherein you can dwell. When I think of the word refuge I think of the term "refugee", a refugee is one who is either running from a dire circumstance, one who feels displaced by certain circumstances or one who needs a place of protection. We all face circumstances in life that can be at times overwhelming and everything seems unsafe and unstable whether physically, mentally or emotionally. It is so comforting to know that we are not left opened to life's elements or the enemy's devices, we can run to God our refuge and our protector. Many times we try to handle life's challenges on our own but ABBA wants us to run to him; the word says he is our strength. He holds us up when we feel weary and battle wounded. We need not fear that we will die under the circumstances that we face because II Corinthians 12:9 says his grace is sufficient for us, his strength is made perfect when we feel weak.

Isn't it comforting to know that God is ever present? So many times it seems like he has stayed at a distance while we suffered but his word says that he is "ever present". Sometimes while going through we are so blinded by the situation that we cannot see that God is there with us through it all. He said in Hebrews 13:5 "I will never leave you nor forsake you." He also said in Matthew 28:20 "Lo I am with you always even unto the end of the world." The comforter is always there, just ask him to embrace you in your time of trouble.

We can be…
